  Alumni / Support Camp Ramah / Volunteer with Ramah

  VOLUNTEER WITH RAMAH

Get involved in our new Fundraising Initiative and become part of an amazing Ramah team.
The following is a list of Volunteer and Leadership opportunities:

1. Role of the Fundraising Executive Chair
      (3 Year Term currently held by Joel Flatt)
Fundraising

  • Oversee both the Annual and Capital Campaign strategic planning and fundraising at the Major Gifts level as well as involvement in stewardship planning
  • Sits as a member of the Executive Board of Camp Ramah in Canada and acts as Executive Chair overseeing Annual, Capital and Major Gifts Committees
  • Works directly with Director of Finance and Operations and Fundraising Staff
  • Responsible for creating and building a fundraising committee to include Vice Chairs and Chairs in conjunction with Ramah Staff
  • Helps determine Annual Campaign Goals, Capital Campaign goals and length of campaigns
  • Solicits Board members, Vice Chairs, and Major Donors

2. Vice Chairs: Annual, Major Gifts
        (3 Year Term)

  • Work with Executive Chair to create, build and lead team of Solicitors
  • Responsible for soliciting Captains and updating teams on Campaign information
  • Required to make follow-up calls to Captains regarding teams of solicitors
  • Chair campaign volunteer meetings with captains with regard to solicitations
  • Annual Vice Chairs focus on raising money for scholarships
  • Major Gifts Vice Chairs main focus is to raise funds for Capital projects

3. Vice Chairs: Marketing, Donor Development,
    Donor Recognition/Stewardship

      (3 Year Term)

  • Work with Executive Chair and Staff to build their portfolios and develop and produce materials that will assist solicitors in their fundraising efforts..
  • Marketing & Communications Vice Chair, focuses on helping to brand and market campaigns, including the writing of materials and working with the Ramah professionals on marketing strategies
  • List Development, Vice Chair, focuses on ensuring that all our databases are cleaned up and hold the most updated information regarding alumni, donors, and families.  As well, s/he will help to find missing alumni information to add to the data base to allow for easier outreach to alumni.
  • Stewardship Vice-Chair, focuses on creating recognition programs for our donors, including, naming opportunities, strategies to incorporate donor plaques at camp, donor and potential donor visits to camp, etc.

4. Annual Chairs and Campaign Captains
      (3 Year Term):

  • Chosen by Executive Chair and Vice Chair
  • Lead a group of 10 volunteers each in soliciting gifts from a large scope of potential donors from specific edot
  • Required to make a gift to the Annual Campaign
  • Responsible for soliciting their own team of volunteers
  • Required to make follow-up calls to teams of solicitors to provide updates during a campaign
  • Report to Vice Chair on campaign

5. Major Gift Captains
       (2 Year Term)

  • Chosen by the Executive Chair, Board Chair and Vice Chair
  • Responsible for soliciting donors for Capital gifts
  • Report to the Capital Campaign Vice Chair

6. Family/ Alumni Chairs
      (3 Year Term):

  • Volunteers Chosen by Ramah staff
  • Oversees programming and fundraising that targets alumni and families which may include,
    geographical and age based programming, grandparents and current Ramah families
  • Works directly with  Ramah professional

7. Camper Active Fundraising Chairs

  • Project specific time commitment
  • Oversees the development of camper based fundraising that could include fundraising throughout the year or during the camp season
  • Works directly with Ramah Professional

8. Special Events Chairs

  • Project specific time commitment
  • Committees decide on yearly fundraising events that may include: gala dinners, luncheons, different
    tournaments and smaller parlour meetings
  • Works directly with Ramah Professional
