STAFF HANDBOOK

E-MAIL
There is limited e-mail and internet access in the Office for staff.

EMERGENCY PROCEEDURES
An Emergency Handbook will be distributed and reviewed during Staff Week. It is critical that all staff members become familiar with the camp's emergency procedures.

FOOD
Based on extensive feedback from parents, the Ramah Committee has instituted a policy that prohibits campers and staff from having any food in the cabin. Therefore, it goes without saying (so we'll write it instead)- there is to be no cooking of any kind in camper cabins. Electrical equipment such as snack masters, hot pots, popcorn poppers, will not be permitted for use by staff in their individual cabins/staff rooms. All staff wishing a snack will have access to snack items through the Moadon Tzevet or through the Kiosk (Canteen).

GOALS
So much of life compels us to occupy ourselves with our small daily needs and concerns. There are mundane chores to be done, assignments to be met, routine duties to be carried out. In our preoccupation with immediates we tend to lose sight of ultimates... Keep in mind - A good measure of a human being is not in what s/he achieves as much as in what s/he strives to achieve. A person can be measured by the size of her/his goals. S/he who aims high and fails is in many ways a taller person than s/he who aims low and succeeds (no short jokes please)

GRAFFITI
Staff members will be held responsible for the replacement or repair costs for damage or defacement of property, buildings, cabins, equipment, or supplies caused by staff or staff neglect (complacency in allowing campers to do damage).

HEBREW
Producing a Hebrew speaking environment is one of the greatest challenges for our staff. Staff should make every effort to speak Hebrew to the best of their ability during routine times in the cabins, at general activities and in conversation in the Chadar Ochel. If you would like us to assist you in providing additional Hebrew language instruction during the summer, please let us know.

I

There's no "I" in TEAM

JEWISH
Staff are expected to act as positive JEWISH role models - in how they dress, speak and treat each other.

KIOSK
Staff will have access to the canteen most evenings.
