STAFF HANDBOOK

We are pleased to welcome you as a staff member of Camp Ramah in Canada for the 2008 season. With your active and creative participation, we expect this summer to be a rewarding one.

This A - Z guide is revised annually so that it better reflects the goals, values, and current practices of Ramah. We have created this guide in order to make your experience in camp as pleasant and productive as possible. Remember, you are responsible for all the information contained within.

Please note, however, that this manual has been designed to provide you with only a general orientation to camp life. As you know from your contract, our formal Orientation Week at camp begins Wednesday, June 18, 2008. All staff are expected to be in camp by 3:30 p.m. for a brief welcoming meeting followed by individual staff meetings. This week at camp is not only important socially and programmatically (affording us the necessary time to prepare for our campers' summer), but it also serves to further familiarize staff members with the goals and policies of Ramah.

Those not able to arrive on time need to notify camp in writing and receive prior approval. All contracts for full season employment, unless otherwise stated, begin on June 18, 2008.

We look forward to seeing you in camp on June 18!
