STAFF TESTIMONIALS
My three years on staff at Camp Ramah in Canada have allowed me to help my campers grow as people and also let me grow, too. At camp, I was honored to facilitate the discourse between 16-year-olds that taught them about themselves. We sat and discussed life and learned from each other. That is what being on staff did for me - make good people and become one.
Joey Eisman, 3rd year staff member
The job of a member of the Ramah tzevet, the Ramah staff family, is one of the most rewarding experiences one could ever have. It involves a great deal of commitment, energy, and patience. However, with all of the nurturing and support provided by the staff around you, it is no wonder that you can't wipe that smile off a madrich/ah's face. And to see the smile on your campers' faces as you hear them say "can't wait to see you next year at camp!" makes all the extra time and effort that one has put in worthwhile.
Kailey Feldman, 2nd year staff member
"As a madrich, not only do you have the unique opportunity to have a positive and lasting impact on the chanichim, but you gain valuable skills and make friendships that will be with you for the rest of your life...not to mention that the summers are always a blast!"
Aaron Silver, 7th year staff member
Being on tzevet Ramah is being part of a community that offers warm feelings of belonging and inclusion. I never attended Ramah as a chanichah (camper) and was worried about joining the Ramah kehillah (community). I was welcomed with open arms and soon felt like I was a part of the supportive and encouraging Jewish environment Ramah creates for both its chanichim and madrichim. I have gained life-long skills and friendships being a tzevet member at Ramah that I know will stay with me for years to come. I am forever indebted to Ramah for the opportunities I have been granted in serving as a tzevet member - to enhance my leadership capabilities, to teach and learn from my peers, and to grow as a Jew. Todah Rabah, Ramah!
Adina Burden, 7th year staff member
Being on staff at Camp Ramah in Canada meant learning to be a leader, a parent, an educator, a mentor, and a friend. The time I spent on staff was an incredibly meaningful and gratifying experience, one that will continue to have an impact on me throughout my life.
Shana Zionts 8th year staff
There is something truly unique about being a madrich at Camp Ramah in Canada. There is not another place in the world where young adults can go for the summer and have such an incredible time with their best friends in the world, while at the same time being a positive Jewish role model for a group of kids. The opportunity you have to impart your wisdom and positive influence on the kids is really something special. As a madrich at Camp Ramah, you are able to grow as a person, while having a great time and teaching others. That's why we keep coming back summer after summer.
Ethan Eisen 3rd year staff member
"Being a counselor at Ramah is an amazing experience. What other job lets you spend time with your best friends, participate in fun activities, and spend a summer outdoors? On a much deeper level, being a madrich has allowed me to instill in my campers a strong sense of Jewish identity and a strong sense of self. At the end of a summer, it is so rewarding to see the personal growth that each camper experienced over the course of 8 weeks and to know that you played an essential role in supporting that growth. It is almost as amazing to look at the growth that you yourself have experienced and to notice that, throughout the entire process, you have learned so much about yourself and have grown in ways that you never imagined you would during a summer job."
Michael Chaikof, 3rd year staff member
