Why Choose Camp Ramah?
Simply put, Ramah’s level of programming and individualized camper care is unparalleled.
The Program
Our program is so much more than that of a typical summer camp. Every summer, more than 600 campers enjoy Camp Ramah’s
- Phenomenal waterfront
- Creative arts
- Exciting outdoor adventures
- Sports
- Expert instruction in a broad range of specialty areas
- Just plain off-the-wall fun
But what sets us aside from other camps is that these fundamentals are wrapped into an experience of Jewish living and learning that is fresh, relevant and real.
We teach skills, nurture self-esteem, and help our campers to develop independence. We also inspire our community with meaningful prayer, innovative educational programs, and an enduring love of Israel.
So while our campers learn to get up on waterskis for the first time, perform in a play production, and participate in exciting inter-camp competitions, they also learn to connect with the deepest and most enriching parts of our tradition.
Camper Care
At Camp Ramah, camper care is of paramount importance.
Our entire staff structure is built to support both individual camper needs as well as the dynamics within camper cabins. In addition to our high-quality, university-age counselors, we hire a significant number of adult staff, many of whom themselves are parents. These adults provide an added maturity and expertise to our community.
Some of these adult staff members serve as Parent Liaisons, facilitating parent access and communication.
We employ a large specialty staff that focuses on teaching advanced skills and building campers’ self-confidence. This also frees our counselors to focus their energy and attention on the social dynamics within the cabin and on the wellbeing of each camper. Both counselors and specialists serve as spirited role models who provide the nurturing environment in which friendships flourish and memories last a lifetime!
